Orion, also known as "The Hunter", is one of the most striking and easily recognizable constellations in the night sky. Located on the celestial equator, it´s one of the oldest constellations and is known for its gigantic nebula. Orion's personality is that of a fierce hunter, bearer of a sword, who is fighting against the attack of a hard animal.

Form and position:

Orion is located almost directly on the celestial equator, forming an imaginary extension of the equatorial plane. Its most distinctive feature is your three-star belt, sometimes called the Three Kings. These stars, whose names are Alnitak馃憫, Alnilam馃憫 and Mintaka馃憫, are also occasionally called "Jacob's Ladder". This belt is most easily visible in the northern hemisphere during the month of January and are the tool to find the constellation in a simple way. The armpit and left foot of Orion are marked by two of the lightest stars in the sky.

Best observation period: Winter

Neighboring constellations: Taurus, Eridanus, Gemini, Hare, Unicorn.

Whenever I see this constellation reminds me of the three caravels of cristobal colon⛵⛵⛵ ....
